Technical FAQ
top Slow response time/time outs
- Slow Connection – If you are dialed in via a phone line, it could be a slow dial in connection. Log off and dial in again at an off-peak time.
- Capacity of your hard drive – Check your hard drive (typically C:) to ensure there is space available on the drive.
- System Activity – You may be visiting the Baptist Health Care web site during peak hours and should return at a better time.
- Browser – Internet Explorer 5 and above are the recommended web browsers. If you are using a different browser or an earlier version, it may impact the quality of your connection. The hardware minimum is a 133 MHz processor with 32 MB of RAM. The following are the combinations of web browser and client operating systems that Baptist Health Care has certified:
- Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 98, NT 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
- Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5 on NT 4, Windows 9x, and Windows 2000.
- Internet Explorer 5 on Mac OS 7.5 and above.
- Netscape Communicator 4.7x on NT 4, Windows 9x, and Windows 2000.
top System not responding
- If you are experiencing this problem with other sites as well, it is likely that it is a problem with your Internet service provider (ISP). Please contact your ISP. There may also be a problem with our site. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact us.
top All information on the web page is not being displayed
- Clear out your CACHE – For Internet Explorer (IE), delete your Temporary Internet Files by going to “Tools” then “Internet Options”. For Netscape, clear out the CACHE by going to “Edit” then “Preferences” and then “Advanced”. After clearing your CACHE, shut down your browser and restart your browser.
- Check Your Settings - If you are using Netscape, select "Edit" then "Preferences" and then "Advanced" and make sure the following are enabled: java, JavaScript, automatically load images, JavaScript for mail and new style sheets.
top Cookies error
- Enable Cookies if you receive the following error "You must have Cookies enabled in order to sign in to your PeopleSoft application". For Internet Explorer, open your ‘Internet Options’. Cookies will be located on the ‘Privacy’ tab. Click on ‘Advanced’ and make sure that you are set up to ‘Accept’ Cookies. For Netscape users, go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced Tree Node, and select Accept All Cookies.

top Guideline for the Application Process
- This is your chance to help us know you better and match you to one of our great career opportunities. The more information you provide about yourself, the better we can assess our job openings with your skills.
- This application may not be updated once submitted, however you may return to this site in the future to apply for open positions.
- You must complete your name, address, and an email address (home or work). Also please include a text copy of your resume electronically.
- The application has several pages to complete. We are providing a quick overview as a guide to help you proceed through the application process. - If you elect to paste your resume you can simply highlight the text of your resume and press control-c to copy and control-v to paste your resume into the box provided after selecting the next button.

- When you are finished, Select Next.

- Please enter your first and last name, address and email information (home or work).
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Preferences page
- If you have been convicted of a crime (felony or misdemeanor), please indicate by selecting Yes or No. If yes, there is a text field provided for explanation.
- Please provide information as to your employment status. Yes or No buttons are provided.
- Please tell us your Vietnam Veteran status.
- Please list any immediate family members who work for Baptist Healthcare.
- You may also indicate desired salary and shift.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Current and Prior Employment
- Select Add and enter your current employment along with start date. If you are currently employed, leave the end date blank to indicate “present”. Enter an Employer Name, Supervisor and Ending Job Title. Enter the Address, City, State and Telephone # of the employer.
- Please indicate if we may contact this employer for reference purposes. Also indicate the reason for leaving and eligibility for rehire.
- You may enter any job duties or other significant information in the comments section.
- Select OK and then the add button again to continue entering additional employment history.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Education
- We need to know your highest level of education completed. A drop down box is provided for your appropriate selection.
High School Education - Provide the specifics of your completed education. Select Add, choose a Level Achieved, enter the Date Acquired, School Name and the State where the school is located.
- Select OK.
College Education - Provide the specifics of your completed education. Select Add, choose a School from the selections; or you may choose to type in your School in the Other field if it is not one of the selections.
- Provide a Major from the selections; or you may choose to type in your Major in the Other field if it is not one of the selections.
- Provide a Degree from the selections and a Date the Degree was issued.
- If you are currently pursuing a degree, indicate your progress by entering hours obtained and an expected graduation date.
- Select OK.
- If you have more than one educational degree, please select OK and then the add button again to continue entering degrees.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Licenses and Certificates
- Please complete this section if you have an accomplishment for which you have received a License or Certificate. Select Add to begin entering your information. A list of licenses and certificates currently exists in our database. Please use Look Up to search for your certification. You may search by accomplishment or by description. We suggest you search by description so that you may enter a description such as “Nursing” (minus the quotation marks) to find your accomplishments quicker. Please complete the Date issued, Expiration Date, License/certification # and Issued by fields.
- Please indicate if your license has ever been subjected to any disciplinary actions, and if so, explain why.
- Select OK and then the add button again to continue entering licenses and certificates.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Memberships
- Please complete this section for Memberships. Select the Add button. Use Lookup to search for the membership and indicate the date issued.
- Select OK and then the add button again to continue entering Memberships.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Languages
- Please complete this section for Languages. Select the Add button. Use Lookup to search for the Language. Use the drop down arrow to select your speaking, reading and writing proficiency.
- Select OK and then the add button again to continue entering Languages.

top How did you find out about us?
- We have provided drop down fields for your selection of an appropriate referral source. For example, if you heard about us through College Recruitment, you would select “College Recruiting”.
- Select the Yes or No button provided to indicate if you are a former employee. If so, please indicate your former name, estimated previous hire date and estimated pervious termination date.
- Select the Next button to advance to the next page.
top Submit Resume
- Use the button labeled “Previous” or the numbered circles to go back to any prior pages.
- Select the “Submit” button to submit your application.
- You will receive a message “Resume submitted successfully”.
- Select OK.
- You can now view your application. Please check it for accuracy. Corrections may be made at this time only. Please print a copy of the application. (If you are using one of the PCs in a Baptist Healthcare recruiting area, you may not have access to a printer).
